Certified Translation

Certified translation in Portuguese, English and Spanish for immigration authorities such as USCIS, universities, consulates and other institutions in different countries that accept translations certified by the translator. Each document is delivered as a PDF containing the complete translation, the signed Affidavit of Translation and a copy of the original.

Purpose and Requirements

A certified translation is a complete translation of the document, accompanied by an Affidavit of Translation: a statement signed by the translator confirming that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate it. This format meets the translation requirement of USCIS and is accepted by institutions in other countries that request translations certified by the translator. Because requirements vary by institution and procedure, the format is confirmed against the guidelines you received.

Our Approach

Each request begins with a review of the document's purpose and the guidelines of the receiving institution. The quote is based on the files you send, and the same team follows the project from quote to delivery.

Documents we translate:

  • Diplomas, school transcripts and certificates
  • Birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates
  • Passports, RG (national ID), CPF (taxpayer ID) and CNH (driver's license)
  • Criminal record certificates and immigration documents
  • Contracts and business documents

Guides by document: Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Criminal Record Certificate, School Transcript and Diploma. See also the complete list of documents we translate.

Translator Certification

The signed Affidavit of Translation and the delivery package.

For documents in another language, USCIS requires a complete English translation, certified by the translator as complete and accurate, together with the translator's certification of competence to translate. The signed Affidavit of Translation contains these statements. Each document is delivered as a PDF with the complete translation, the Affidavit and a copy of the original.

Our Standards

We research the established equivalents for the names of Brazilian agencies, registries and documents, according to the context in which they will be presented. Acronyms needed to identify the original source are retained.
