Scope of the Translation
The entire certificate is translated, and the layout of the fields is preserved so the translation can be checked against the original.
- Registrant, parents and grandparents, with names exactly as they appear on the original
- Registration number (matrícula) or, on older certificates, book, page and entry number (livro, folha e termo)
- All annotations, including marginal notes
- Seals, stamps and signatures identified in brackets where they appear, such as [seal], [stamp: Civil Registry Office] and [signature]
- Dates written with the month spelled out (March 23, 2026)
Each document is delivered as a PDF containing the complete translation, the signed Affidavit of Translation and a copy of the original, in that order.
Submission Guidelines
- Send a clear photo or scan of the full page, with all edges visible.
- Include the back of the certificate if it contains text, seals or notes.
- Confirm whether the receiving institution requires the short form (breve relato) or the long form (inteiro teor) before you request the translation.
